Mid-career consultant

Who you will work with

Based anywhere in the UK, you’ll be part of a boutique strategy consulting organisation delivering due diligence and value creation to Private Equity (PE) and corporate clients.

You will work directly with our clients and their portfolio companies, predominantly at the board and senior management level. Our clients are based in Europe and North America, many have global operations, and together they span a wide range of industries. The common feature is the use of technology to drive shareholder value.

What you will do

Strategic technology due diligence

For due diligence, you will be assessing technology ecosystems to understand if they can deliver investment milestones and respond to value creation levers. This includes exploring proprietary code, documentation, organisational structures, skills, metrics, data management, processes and the implementation of third-party technology. Some of our work also looks at the commercial development of AI and ML. You’ll switch constantly between tactical and strategic and deep-dive into industry-specific processes, markets, regulation and risk mitigation.

Value creation

Our value creation work has three phases: gather intelligence, interpret and design. We work on product transformations such as SaaS carve-outs, hardware virtualisation, Enterprise to SaaS conversions and portfolio rationalisations. You will cover the entire technology ecosystem at a more strategic level, analysing information, formulating and validating hypotheses, developing recommendations, developing financial and market modelling to support your insights, and communicating to stakeholders.

Build and acquire knowledge

Between projects, you’ll work on converting learnings from engagements into knowledge frameworks and assessment tools so that your insights can be used in future engagements.

You’ll be working in a small team of 3-5 colleagues and have access to subject matter experts who are global leaders in their field. It is an outwards facing role: you’ll have plenty of engagement with the client. And it is a valued role: you will be supported by everyone in eXcentius, including the founders and advisors
